True Identity

You have a lot more in common with Superman than you think. In a very real way, we both are aliens. We may live here on Earth for the moment, but that's not where you're from. You are a super-powered being from a place that many have never even heard of. You walk among mere mortals, hidden in plain sight. But living far from home is not easy. Every single day, Clark has to decide who he wants to be. Is he a farm boy from Kansas, or the all-powerful Son of Krypton. Sometimes it's easier to blend in with the crowd than it is to be yourself. The pressure to fit in can make it hard to stand up for what you believe in. Putting on that cape means opening yourself up to everything the villains can throw at you. They will come for you weapons drawn, but it won't matter. You are bulletproof.

David reminds us that our heavenly heritage gives us not just invincibility, but super-human bravery to back it up. He writes in Psalm 56 that it is "in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" In other words, trusting in the Lord is the source of our power.

Until you accept the fact that God created you, and has a plan for your life, you will always be scared of failure, of what they will say, of not fitting in. You have to decide to put your faith in a place you can't see. Every day Clark makes that choice. And so must we. Are you just an average human or are you an invincible child of the one true God? Never forget where you're from.
